Each year, Eagle Point Primary School holds a special day in honour of Koby—“Koby Day”—a day that brings the whole school community together to remember him while sharing an important message about road safety.
As the school where Koby once worked, and where his little sister Tillie now attends, it holds a deeply personal connection. Seeing the school continue to honour him in such a meaningful way is both emotional and incredibly special. It keeps his presence alive within the community that meant so much to him.
Koby Day is filled with a range of road safety activities designed to engage and educate the students in a way that is both fun and memorable. Through games, discussions, and interactive learning, children are encouraged to think about how to stay safe on and around the road, building awareness from a young age
What makes the day even more powerful is the balance between education and celebration. While there is an important message at its core, it is also a day of connection, laughter, and remembering Koby for who he was. The students get to play, learn, and honour his memory in a way that feels positive and meaningful.
Koby Day is a beautiful example of how a community can come together to create something lasting from loss—helping to educate the next generation while ensuring Koby’s story continues to make a difference.
