Being involved in the TAC Club Rewards Program alongside the AFL has been an incredibly meaningful part of our journey with Eyes on the Road for Koby.

Through this program, we were invited by local football clubs to share Koby’s story and help raise awareness around road safety, standing alongside other advocates and first responders who are equally passionate about creating change.

Speaking directly to players, coaches, and club communities was powerful. These environments are built on teamwork, trust, and looking out for one another—values that strongly align with the message of road safety. It created an opportunity to remind young people that the responsibility they show for their teammates on the field should extend to the choices they make on the road.

One club that stood out was the Lucknow Football Netball Club, who were recognised as one of the top recipients for their advocacy efforts within the program. Their commitment to promoting road safety and supporting initiatives like this highlights the real impact community clubs can have in driving change.

The TAC Club Rewards Program is such an important initiative, helping to spread life-saving messages to young players at a grassroots level. By encouraging conversations around safe decision-making and the importance of looking after one another, it reinforces that road safety is a shared responsibility.

Being part of this program has been a powerful way to continue Koby’s legacy—turning his story into awareness, and awareness into action, in the hope of keeping more young people safe on our roads.
