Starting Eyes on the Road for Koby came from a place of deep grief, but also a strong need to create something meaningful in the midst of loss. Ten months after losing Koby, I found myself searching for a way to make a difference.
In November 2022, I committed to running 3km every day for the entire month. What started as a personal challenge quickly became something more. With every run, I carried not only my own grief, but the weight of knowing that too many other young lives were being lost on our local roads.
Through this challenge, Eyes on the Road for Koby was born. It became a way to raise awareness, start conversations, and honour Koby in a way that could make a difference. Along the way, I was also able to raise funds, which were donated to the Australian Road Safety Foundation, supporting their ongoing work in road safety and prevention.
What began as one small step each day turned into something much bigger—a reminder that even in the hardest moments, there is always a way to create impact. Eyes on the Road for Koby continues to stand for awareness, change, and the hope that fewer families will have to experience the same loss.
