ARSF Fatality Free Friday

Being invited to attend the 2023 Fatality Free Friday campaign launch in Brisbane by ARSF was an incredibly meaningful moment for us. This year carried even deeper significance for us, with Koby chosen as the face of the campaign—something that filled us with both pride and heartbreak.

Walking into the event and seeing Koby’s face as the campaign was overwhelming. It was a powerful reminder that behind every statistic is a real person, a real life, and a family forever changed. His story stood at the centre of a message that no one ever wants to be part of, yet so many are.

The launch brought together organisations, advocates, and community members, all committed to reducing road trauma. A standout moment was an interactive activity testing reaction times, showing just how quickly things can change on the road and how important it is to stay focused every second.

Fatality Free Friday carries a simple but vital message—every choice on the road matters. While it focuses on one day, it’s a reminder that safe decisions need to happen every day: slowing down, staying alert, and never driving under the influence.

Seeing Koby represent this campaign made the message impossible to ignore. It reinforced why we continue to share his story through Eyes on the Road for Koby—because if it can make even one person think twice, it can help save a life.
